TMI Corps scores top honors for 25th consecutive year

For the 25th year in a row, TMI Episcopal’s Texas Military Institute Corps of Cadets has earned the title of Honor Unit with Distinction, the highest rating an Army JROTC unit can receive.
This honor is the result of a JROTC Program for Accreditation (JPA) Inspection, conducted Feb. 4 by representatives of Cadet Command’s 5th Brigade, headquartered at Fort Sam Houston. JROTC units at secondary schools are evaluated every three years to ensure compliance with program criteria.

The Corps scored an overall 97 percent. During the individual inspection, cadets scored 98.6 percent, and in individual interviews, cadets scored100 percent.

“Since the beginning of the year, our cadets have had a singular focus: Be the best Corps possible,” said retired Lt. Col. Santiago Bueno III, TMI’s commandant. “Our cadets truly went above and beyond the standard.”
