JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Associate Athletic Director
Position Type: Full-time
Department: Athletics
Classification: Exempt
Reports To: Athletic Director
Job Summary
The Associate Athletic Director (AAD) is a senior leader in the TMI Episcopal Athletics Department. Reporting to the Athletic Director (AD), the AAD works collaboratively with the Assistant AD as part of the Athletics Leadership Team, supporting strategic planning, daily operations, and cross-divisional coordination.
The AAD will assist in oversight of the Upper School athletics, ensuring programmatic alignment across divisions, supporting coach development, and leading strategic initiatives. This non-coaching role is ideal for a detail-oriented, forward-thinking administrator ready to help guide TMI through a new era of competitive, values-driven athletics, including transitioning from TAPPS 6A to the Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC) beginning in the 2026–27 academic year.
This position offers an outstanding opportunity for an aspiring athletics administrator to work directly with a highly skilled athletic director who has over two decades of NCAA Division I leadership experience. The current TMI AD also brings valuable insights from previous leadership roles in professional sports management and collegiate coaching, establishing a solid foundation for mentorship in strategic planning, operations, compliance, facilities, fundraising, and student-athlete development.
This position also functions as the sports administrator for several designated Upper School athletic programs, collaborating with head coaches to ensure they have the resources, support, and oversight required for success. Additionally, the Associate AD acts as a key cultural ambassador, responsible for recruiting and mentoring mission-appropriate students, coaches, and staff who embrace and contribute to TMI’s culture of Cherishing, Knowing, and Challenging every member of its community.
