Episcopal Identity

Our Episcopal Identity

We educate both the head and the heart.
Episcopal schools are Christian communities whose missions integrate spiritual formation into all aspects of the educational experience. They are created to be communities that honor, celebrate, and worship God as the center of life, serving as models of God’s love and grace. True to our Episcopal identity, the TMI mission is to “provide an exceptional education with values based on the teachings of Jesus Christ that challenge motivated students to develop their full potential in service and leadership.”

Excellence and Character

We raise great human beings.
With the Episcopal tradition rooted in scholarship and reason, Episcopal schools are known for their academic excellence and top-quality education that includes character development and a focus on the whole child. The pursuit of academic excellence in Episcopal schools is complemented by creative and inclusive worship rooted in the Christian tradition, religious education that fosters dialogue with other faith traditions, service and social responsibility, and ensuring the physical, mental, and emotional health of all are supported and nurtured.

Inclusion and Diversity

We welcome students of all faiths and backgrounds.
One of the principal qualities that distinguishes a school as Episcopal is that it serves people of all faiths and backgrounds. Inclusivity is a hallmark of Episcopal schools and, as such, they are populated by a rich variety of human beings, from increasingly diverse religious, cultural, and economic backgrounds. They are created to serve God in Christ in all persons, regardless of origin, background, ability, or religion. They are created to “strive for justice and peace among all people and [to] respect the dignity of every human being.” As stated by the National Association of Episcopal Schools, “Above all, Episcopal schools exist not merely to educate, but to demonstrate and proclaim the unique worth and beauty of all human beings as creations of a loving, empowering God.” At TMI, we are authentically Christian and genuinely inclusive!
