Why choose the Residential Life program at TMI?
In the TMI Residential Life program, students have the option to choose between 7-day boarding, 5-day boarding, and flexi-boarding. Accommodations for all boarding students in the Residential Life program include a double or triple occupancy room assignment in one of the three Houses on campus (Abbott, Bailey, and Ewing Halsell). Each residence hall features a common room, washers and dryers, custom furniture, granite bathroom countertops, and polished concrete floors.
7-Day Boarding
The 7-Day Boarding program offers students the full Residential Life experience at TMI. Students who are 7-Day Boarders enjoy a variety of social and educational activities throughout the week and on weekends. Under the guidance and supervision of House Parents, students in the Residential Life program are part of a living learning community that enhances their on-campus experience at TMI and prepares students for the independence of college life.
5-Day Boarding
The 5-Day Boarding program offers students the Residential Life experience at TMI from Sunday afternoon through the end of their commitments on Friday. This option is available to students who have a legal residence within a 200-mile radius of San Antonio. Boarding students enrolled in this option may request to stay the weekend in the dorms for an additional fee. As a 5-Day Boarder, students enjoy a variety of social and educational activities throughout the week. Under the guidance and supervision of House Parents, students in the Residential Life program are part of a living learning community that enhances their on-campus experience at TMI and prepares students for the independence of college life.
Flexi-Boarding
Flexi-Boarding is a unique option available to students who live near TMI Episcopal, but want the convenience of staying on campus late into the evening or occasionally overnight. The program is a flexible system designed to meet the needs of busy parents and students. Unlike Full Boarders, Flexi-Boarders can stay for an extended day and return home in the evenings or have the flexibility to stay the night. There are a limited number of spaces for Flexi-Boarding, so early applications are encouraged.
Flexi-Boarders may eat breakfast and dinner in the Refectory daily. In addition, they may stay on campus until 9:30 p.m. daily, enjoying the same privileges as the 5- and 7-Day Boarders. They are allowed to stay overnight 55 nights per year.
