TMI senior wins Houston Rodeo prize
Cameron Crenwelge, a senior at TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas, claimed Grand Champion Market Junior Lamb on March 17 at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
She also broke the world record for the most expensive market lamb ever sold with a selling price of $270,000.
Crenwelge, representing the Kerr County 4-H club, took her place among other 4-H and Future Farmers of America members among the Junior Market Lamb and Goat champions.
Her success was the result of years of hard work, she said: “Every day, for as long as I can remember, I have been working with lambs…living it, breathing it. So this is an amazing experience.”
Crenwelge plans to attend Texas A&M University next year, where she has signed to ride with the school’s top-ranked Division I equestrian team.
