Ways To Give

A tradition of community support through the TMI Annual Fund drive.

TMI is grateful for the financial support it receives from alumni, faculty, staff, parents, grandparents, friends, foundations, and businesses. This support has enabled TMI to become the exemplary college preparatory school that it is today.

Support from our donors allows TMI to continue recruiting quality students who will ultimately become the servant leaders of tomorrow. The school's excellence rests firmly on the generosity of the school community, past and present, who believe in the mission and whose gifts of time, talent, treasure and prayer help ensure the full range of opportunities to every student, every day.

TMI's Advancement Office stands ready to answer your questions about ways to give to TMI that are consistent with your own charitable giving goals. As you can see below, you can make gifts to TMI in many different ways:

  • Annual Gifts

Annual gifts are outright gifts and are fully deductible for income tax purposes. They can be made in three ways:

    • Online donations are the simplest ways to contribute and can be put right to work for TMI.
    • Appreciated securities and real property, instead of cash, may enable the donor to take a tax deduction on the full value of the gift and avoid capital gains on the transfer.
    • Many companies will match contributions made by an employee (or by an employee's spouse). Please inquire whether your employer has a matching gift program. If it does, you as a donor receive credit from TMI for both the original gift and the amount of the match.
  • Endowed Gifts

Income from permanent funds also supports the school's programs. Endowments provide wonderful opportunities to recognize special relationships and interests.
  • Planned Gifts & The 1893 Society

Planned gifts allow a donor to retain some aspect of the asset or assets used to make the gift. Planned gifts can include bequests, charitable trusts, and gifts of life insurance, real estate, or other tangible property. Depending on a donor's personal circumstances, a planned gift may not only provide considerable tax savings, but also may increase a donor's assets and income. The 1893 Society honors those individuals who have made a charitable provision for TMI in their estate plans through a deferred gift or bequest.
  • Life Insurance

Ownership of an individual life insurance policy which is no longer needed to protect family members or a business may be transferred to TMI with TMI named as beneficiary. A gift of life insurance enables the donor to receive income and estate tax benefits.
