    Merit Scholarship Information for 2017-2018

Students should apply for Merit Scholarships between November 1, 2016 and January 17, 2017 for the 2017-2018 school year. Late and/or incomplete applications will not be reviewed by the scholarship committee.
TMI awards merit scholarships to recognize returning students for academic excellence, extracurricular achievements, outstanding personal character, and proven leadership ability as well as other contributions to the TMI community. Merit scholarships are distinct from financial aid in that they are not need-based unless so indicated. A scholarship review committee meets to review all submitted applications and to select the scholars. Each application is considered with the greatest of care and announcements of awards are typically made in March.

Merit scholarship applications will be available in November for the upcoming school year. Applications can be picked up in the Ayres Hall lobby, the Registrar's Office, the Office of Financial Aid or they can be downloaded online.
Eligibility for scholarship consideration is based upon the following guidelines:
    • Students must be enrolled for the following academic year.
    • Students may receive only one scholarship per academic year.
    • Students must meet the deadline of January 17, 2017. Late or incomplete essays will not be accepted. The essay portion of the application must be emailed to a.hernandez@tmi-sa.org.
    • Printed copies will not be accepted. Teacher recommendations must be dropped off at the Student Office in Coates Hall.
    • It is the applicant’s responsibility to verify with the Office of Merit Scholarships if his/her application is complete and received by the deadline.
