TMI cadets show off map skills

Cadets from TMI Episcopal’s Texas Military Institute Corps of Cadets (Army JROTC) earned top places at the St. Mary’s University Orienteering Meet, held Feb. 23 at Camp Bullis.
Senior Clinton Ma earned first place, and Andres Thrailkill took second in Novice Individuals; Ma claimed third place overall in the contest, which tests participants’ map reading and navigation skills. The Men’s Upper School team took first place, and the Women’s Upper School team took second, both in Novice.

Last month, the TMI Corps was rated an Honor Unit with Distinction after Annual Formal Inspection, earning the highest rating Army JROTC units can receive, for the 25th consecutive year. The Corps dates back to TMI’s founding and is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year along with the school.
