TMI aids St. Helena’s with spring cleaning

Members of the TMI Corps of Cadets took some time to give back at St. Helena’s Episcopal Church in Boerne in March.
The Corps has enjoyed a longtime special relationship with St. Helena’s, the venue since 2009 for supper parties after the cadets march in the Boerne Weihnachts Parade. “Every year, St. Helena’s provides their large hall and kitchen area to the Corps after the Christmas parade, free of charge,” said retired Army Lt. Col. Santiago Bueno, commandant of the TMI Corps. “When St. Helena’s needed some help getting ready for Palm Sunday and Easter, we wanted to give back to an organization that has supported
us so very much over the years.”

On March 23, a crew of TMI cadets helped the church spruce up for Holy Week by raking leaves, pulling weeds, planting flowers, sweeping sidewalks, picking up litter on the playground, smoothing gravel and pressure-washing a patio and outdoor tabletops. Participants included cadets Jack Basil, Chase Blackwell, Michael Blaess, Kurt Bliss, Jessica Cox, Dalaiza Gonzales, Demetrio Gonzales, Ricky Knight, Joey Kyle, Kyle Lin, Clinton Ma, Robert McAllen, Emmet Owen, Lucas Prado, Christopher Tawil, Trent Wisian, Audrey Yang and Rachel Zhang.

“We thank the cadets so very much for their assistance,” said St. Helena’s Parish Administrator Ann Shorter. “The day was a huge success.”
