Varsity swimmers earn 1st, 9th place at CCA Invitational

Congratulations to the TMI varsity swimmers at the CCA Private School Invitational this past weekend.
Congratulations to the TMI varsity swimmers, the boys team placed first out of 16 teams at the CCA Private School Invitational held in Grapevine, TX, this past weekend and the girls team placed 9th out of 18 teams with a very young team!

The boys Medley Relay of Victor Alejos, Nico Ituarte, Robby Devlin and Santiago Martinez came in first place by nearly 10 seconds. The 200 free relay of Ituarte, Alejos, Ryan Kyle & Devlin also won with an 8 second margin. The 400 free relay of Santiago Martinez, Andres Martinez, Andrew Hieger and Sebastian Flores finished 3rd place.

Victor Alejos won both his 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke individual events. Robby Devlin won the 50 free and came in a close second to Victor in the Rubber Ducky 100 Freestyle Dual. Other point scorers were Ryan Kyle in the 200 free and 100 breast, Santiago Martinez in the 50 & 500 free, Jack Whittemore in the 50 free & 100 fly, Ben Wengrovitz in the 50 & 500 free, and Andres Martinez, Pedro Mejido and Sebastian Flores all in the 100 back.

The girls 200 free relay team of Jessica Cox, Mary Warder, Hannah Allen and Emily Lawitz took third place and also captured fourth place in the 400 free relay.

Jessica Cox was the winner in the 200 free swimming and placed third in the 100 backstroke. Hannah Allen and Mary Warder finished ninth in both the 50 & 100 freestyle, respectively.

Congratulations to all the swimmers and coaches on a successful start to this year’s season.
