TMI announces new Chief Advancement Officer

TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas has named Ryan Kohnen, a 1998 graduate, as chief advancement officer. His responsibilities will include leading and overseeing all aspects of TMI's advancement program, which includes annual giving and special events, alumni relations, endowed gifts, planned giving and capital campaigns.
Kohnen has spent the last 18 years in various entrepreneurial and business leadership roles, most recently leading the Western U.S. sales operations of a medical device manufacturer. He has served as a member of the TMI Board of Trustees since 2015 and coached Upper School baseball and Middle School basketball at TMI from 1998-2005. He also has extensive experience as a volunteer in the nonprofit world as the current Chair and founder of Back to College Night, a fundraiser for the Meadowlands Campus in Boerne; former member of the board of the San Antonio Sports Foundation; founder of the former YoungExecs organization; and the 2010 Co-Chair of the TMI Panther Scramble.

“I am confident that as a TMI alumnus, Ryan will bring a special understanding and enthusiasm to the task of helping our school continue to raise lifelong servant leaders,” said the Rev. Scott J. Brown, TMI headmaster.

A graduate of St. Edward’s University in Austin, where he earned a degree in Organizational Communications, he is married to the former Lacey Jordan, who also worked at TMI in what was then the Development Office and as the varsity tennis coach from 2000-2008. They have three children and live in Fair Oaks Ranch.
