TMI soccer wins district ‘four-peat’

The boys varsity soccer team of TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas won its fourth consecutive Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) Division 2, District 5 championship Feb. 17 with a 3-2 win at Saint Mary’s Hall.
TMI’s Panthers overcame a 2-0 halftime deficit in the second half, overtaking the Barons with goals scored by seniors Alex Kuri, Jorge Landois and Nick Perez. Kuri, the district’s leading scorer, made the winning goal.

“As coaches, we were especially proud of the way seniors led the team this year,” said TMI Head Soccer Coach Luis Murillo. “Senior captains Noah McLaughlin, Nick Perez and Alex Kuri were instrumental in leading the team to a fourth straight district title.”
