TMI tourney features challenging course, exciting new prize
TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas will hold its Panther Scramble golf tournament Monday, Oct. 24, at the Resort Course at La Cantera, recently renovated and known for its challenging scenic vistas.
Highlights include a cannon start, raffle drawings and the return of the Panther Cup for the overall winner. New this year, every participant has a chance to qualify for the Million Dollar Shootout, where the top three scorers on a designated hole will compete in a hole-in-one shoot-out for a $1 million prize. The tournament also features a chance to win a Lexus RX 350 from North Park Lexus. All golfers will enjoy a boxed lunch, swag bag, two raffle tickets and an awards reception immediately following the tournament.
Chaired by TMI parent Tex Kyle, Panther Scramble committee members include Emmette “Tuffy” Burton, Barbara Elms, TMI Athletic Director Becky Geyer, Frank Goza, Lisa Harthan, Candace Lynch and Roman Ruiz.
Tournament sponsors include Advanced Operations Partners, Corsair Interests LLC, Ferrari of San Antonio, Frost Bank, Higginbotham, A.J. Monier Service Co., North Park Lexus, St. George Episcopal School, Trane and Wortham Insurance.
Registration opens at 11:30 a.m. at La Cantera, 16641 La Cantera Parkway, and the tournament starts at 1 p.m. with the firing of the school’s replica cannon, “The Bishop.” Proceeds support the TMI athletics program.
