International Friendship Program
At TMI, the dorms close during the holiday breaks. For this reason, it is required that your child stay with an adult. TMI’s International Friendship Program is designed to meet this need. For boarding students who enroll in this program, TMI will find a host family for them to stay with during the breaks. All host families will undergo screening procedures similar to those that the TMI staff and faculty undergo.
As the host families will be making a commitment to look after your children in advance, they will be paid by you at the rate of $60 per night. In order to simplify matters, the school will bill you for the number of nights homestay your child requires, and pass this on to the host family. Any money remaining at the end of the year will be reimbursed. As all of the host families will be part of the TMI family, it is hoped that this will produce huge benefits for your child. It is hoped that your child will form very strong ties with the host family.
If you already have a hosting solution in place, you do not need to participate in the program and only ask that you inform the Director of Residential Life what the holiday arrangements are. For families who are interested in participating, you may sign up by completing this short online form here.
As soon as TMI has your approval, we will begin the search for a suitable host family.
