A Curriculum Designed for Distinction

A TMI education goes beyond conventional college prep. Our curriculum is intentionally designed to build not just a strong transcript, but a curious and capable mind. Beginning with the class of 2029, all students will engage in two foundational courses unique to TMI: The Philosophy of Human Flourishing, which equips them with timeless wisdom for a well-lived life, and Innovation, Design, and Technology, which prepares them to be ethical creators in a complex world. For those seeking deeper specialization, our signature Pathways Program offers immersive study in fields like Business & Entrepreneurship or Innovation, Design & Engineering, turning academic passion into real-world expertise. These distinctive elements are built upon a robust academic foundation, with more than 30 AP and Honors courses providing students with unparalleled choice and challenge across disciplines.

Leadership in Action, Not Just in Name
At TMI Episcopal, leadership is more than a title; it is a matter of character and a skill that must be practiced. We provide a wide range of leadership roles where students are challenged to ask not only “What should I do?” but “Who should I be?” Opportunities abound, from elected positions on Student Council and Honor Council to appointed roles as Prefects and representatives on a Student Athletic Leadership Committee. In every role, students learn to serve the community with compassion, guide their peers with integrity, and cultivate the moral imagination necessary to lead in a complex world.

The Architecture of Independence

We prepare students for the freedom of college by giving them structured independence now. The Upper School schedule is intentionally designed to grant increasing autonomy over time, progressing from structured study halls for underclassmen to the true free periods enjoyed by our juniors and seniors. Whether it’s collaborating on a project in the Petty Donnell library, seeking extra help from a teacher in the B.E.N. center, or managing their own time altogether, TMI students learn to advocate for themselves and manage their time wisely, skills that are essential to success in college and beyond.
