TECH

Technology

Technology is a powerful tool that enriches learning, fosters creativity, and prepares students for success in a rapidly evolving global society. We are committed to equipping students with essential skills in creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and digital literacy—skills that are vital for today’s world and tomorrow’s opportunities.

To integrate technology seamlessly into the classroom and maximize learning, TMI Episcopal has implemented a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) laptop program. All students in grades 6–12 are required to bring a laptop to school daily. Compared to mobile devices, laptops provide greater access to advanced digital tools and platforms, enabling deeper engagement with coursework, research, and organization.

Our approach allows teachers and students to consistently use technology as an extension of the classroom—supporting exploration, creativity, and efficient learning.

TMI does not require a specific brand or operating system. Instead, the Technology Department, together with the Academic Technology Committee, has developed a set of broad specifications to guide families in selecting an appropriate laptop. For detailed requirements, please see the BYOD Specs & Program.
At TMI, we utilize Yondr Pouches for all cell phones and smartwatches. Students are not allowed to use their cell phones during school hours and we do ask that they are placed in the Yondr Pouch assigned to each student.
