Episcopal Identity

TMI Episcopal is rooted in the Episcopal tradition, which calls us to pursue knowledge, practice compassion, and honor the dignity of every human being. As the flagship school of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas, we embrace a faith-informed approach to education that welcomes students of all backgrounds and beliefs. Daily chapel services, led by our chaplain, offer space for reflection, spiritual growth, and community connection. Grounded in the values of faith, reason, and inclusion, our Episcopal identity inspires us to form servant leaders—young people who seek wisdom, act with integrity, and serve with purpose.

We educate both the head and the heart.

Episcopal schools are Christian communities whose missions integrate spiritual formation into all aspects of the educational experience. They are created to be communities that honor, celebrate, and worship God as the center of life, serving as models of God’s love and grace.

Episcopal schools welcome students of all faith traditions, fostering respect, curiosity, and dialogue in a diverse community. Through daily chapel, service learning, and intentional reflection, students are encouraged to grow not only in knowledge but also in character and compassion.

We pursue academic excellence.

With the Episcopal tradition rooted in scholarship and reason, Episcopal schools are known for their academic excellence and top-quality education that includes character development and a focus on the whole child. The pursuit of academic excellence in Episcopal schools is complemented by creative and inclusive worship rooted in the Christian tradition, religious education that fosters dialogue with other faith traditions, service and social responsibility, and ensuring the physical, mental, and emotional health of all are supported and nurtured.

We welcome students of all faiths and backgrounds.

One of the principal qualities that distinguishes a school as Episcopal is that it serves people of all faiths and backgrounds. Inclusivity is a hallmark of Episcopal schools and, as such, they are populated by a rich variety of human beings, from increasingly diverse religious, cultural, and economic backgrounds. They are created to serve God in Christ in all persons, regardless of origin, background, ability, or religion. They are created to “strive for justice and peace among all people and [to] respect the dignity of every human being.”
