Position: Athletic Coaching Opportunities

TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas is accepting applications for the following coaching positions for the 2016-2017 school year. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years coaching experience. TMI competes in the TAPPS and all coaches are expected to support an environment of Christian good sportsmanship. Biology Teacher

Position: Biology Teacher

TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas seeks a full-time Biology teacher beginning in the 2016-2017 school year. A strong candidate will have 3-5 years of prior teaching experience in independent schools, with the background to teach and contribute to the school community through coaching and/or club sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching four sections of introductory Biology (College Prep and/or Honors (11th grade) and a year-long elective in biotechnology
  • Serving as an Advisor to a small group of students
  • Contributing to the broader TMI community by participating in extracurricular activities, including the athletic program, residential life program, and/or club program

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biology or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Three to five years teaching experience teaching at the middle or upper school level, preferably in an independent school setting
  • Experience teaching Advanced Placement courses is a plus

Skills

  • Knowledge of diverse teaching strategies and a variety of technology tools to differentiate student learning
  • Excellent communication skills (both writing and speaking)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and prioritize workload
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments
Chemistry Teacher — Upper School

Position: Chemistry Teacher — Upper School

Position Description
TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas seeks a full-time Chemistry teacher beginning in the 2016-2017 school year. A strong candidate will have 3-5 years of prior teaching experience in independent schools, with the background to teach and contribute to the school community through coaching and/or club sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching three sections of Grade 7 Life Science and a year-long elective in Advanced Placement Environmental Science
  • Directing the Outdoor Education Program
  • Maintaining the TMI School Garden and Orchard areas
  • Serving as an Advisor to a small group of students
  • Contributing to the broader TMI community by participating in extracurricular activities, including the athletic program, residential life program, and/or club program

Substitute Teachers Needed

Position: Substitute Teacher

TMI is seeking Substitute Teachers. Those who are qualified will be added to our roster of substitute teachers to be called upon as needed throughout the school year.

Education: 4-year College degree preferred

Experience: Previous teaching experience with middle and upper school-age children.
