  Job Summary

  The basic function is to perform tasks that provide school personnel, students, and the public with an environmentally safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean facility in which to work and conduct school activities.

  Essential Job Duties

  This position is responsible for routine cleaning of the campus, including offices, classrooms, restrooms, gymnasiums, athletic rooms, etc. A custodian must have flexible availability and potentially support weekend events such as Homecoming, Stars Over TMI, Graduation, dances, etc. All employees are expected to maintain good personal hygiene and wear the appropriate attire which may include uniforms. This position requires the ability to carry out instructions in written or verbal form and communicate effectively with all TMI constituents.

  Ensure a well-cared for and clean facility by performing tasks such as emptying and cleaning waste receptacles, washing windows, dusting furniture, cleaning vents, fans, walls, mop and vacuum floors.

  • Perform deep cleaning tasks such as cleaning baseboards in offices and bathrooms, around sinks and toilets.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of storage and supply areas; maintain a record of inventory and ask for supplies as needed.
  • Advise the janitorial supervisor of needed maintenance and repairs in the assigned areas as soon as an issue is noticed.
  • Be ready to assist other custodians as directed by the janitorial supervisor.
  • Tasks may be performed with potential exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as strong odors, fumes, dusts, wetness, humidity, machinery, vibrations, temperature and noise extremes, pathogenic substances and toxic/poisonous agents.
  • Follow all applicable workplace safety guidelines and immediately advise of any safety issues.

  Physical Requirements

  May be required to stand for long periods of time while working and be able to walk stairs between floors in a multi-story building. Must be able to move around and/or be on your feet 7-8 hours a day.

  • Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in duties which require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of machinery, and carrying materials weighing up 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to push/pull supply cart on an inclined outdoor walkway
  • Must be able to complete onsite training to safely operate an electric floor buffer.
  • Valid drivers required.

  Job Summary

  The basic function of this position as a skilled tradesman is to monitor and maintain the physical school facilities.  This position provides expertise in all areas of general repair and maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry. This position will be tasked with all matters of repair, preventative maintenance, and upgrades to various school assets such as building interior and exterior, furnishings and equipment. Completion of work may involve coordinating and working with others to accomplish repairs and occasional oversight of contractors. This position requires a high degree of attention to detail, the ability to work on a team, respect of school property while helping foster a culture of safety.  The ability to work alongside administrators, faculty, staff, parents and students with tact and polite demeanor is very important.
    
  Essential Job Duties

  1. Accomplish repair and maintenance of various school assets using the work order system. Prioritize urgency of repairs and communicate status of work with the Director of Facilities.

  2. Evaluate necessary materials and equipment purchases to accomplish repairs and or tasks. Upon approval, procure necessary supplies and tools through our network of vendors.

  3. Coordinate with the Director of Facilities to support school functions. This may include before and after hours as well as weekends. Collaborate with various school constituencies as needed for special event planning, setup and take down.

  4. As directed by the Director of Facilities, work alongside outside contractors as needed. 

   

  Skills

  Experience

  Prior Experience working in facilities management, construction, or applicable trades. Three years’ experience in a similar setting is preferred.

  2. Mow and weed grounds year round
  3. Maintain and repair irrigation systems for all grounds year round
  4. Perform other related duties as requested

  Skills / Knowledge

  1. Knowledge in different types of turf management including operation of various types of irrigation systems and field mowers
  2. Operating knowledge of a tractor, deck mower, and weed-eater.

  Job Summary

  1. This position is responsible for providing uniformed security and safety for students, faculty, staff, visitors, and school resources 24/7/365. This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Safety & Security with the overall safety and security measures in place, to protect the campus population and resources on the TMI campus. As such, the individual must be professional, visible, trusted, flexible, and tuned in to every activity that takes place at the school. He/she should strive to gain the trust of students and parents and be watchful and vigilant during periods of pick-up and drop-off of students.

  2. Must pass the personnel screening and background check required by the Diocese and successfully complete the presentation “Safeguarding God’s Children” within thirty (30) days of hiring.
  
  

  Essential Job Duties

  1. Provide scheduled coverage of the Security Welcome Center and ensure that all vehicles entering the campus without a properly issued and authorized TMI decal are stopped. Screen and issue a visitor’s badge to each occupant after getting appropriate identification/information from them.

  2. Stop all students leaving campus during the day and ask them for their authorization from the Attendance Office.

  3. Control traffic flow, vehicle speed, and all fire lane parking violations

  4. Monitor that all day students safely and timely leave the campus each day after school and athletic/special events.

  5. Provide security of school resources by patrolling the campus and monitoring activities. Secure campus after normal operating hours to ensure doors are secured, parking lot lights working, and front and back gates closed.

  6. Coordinate with the Director of Safety & Security regarding times the gates are to open and close at night, weekends, special events.

  7. Work special events as assigned (Football games, Homecoming, Stars over TMI, Graduation, etc.).

  8. Maintain understanding and familiarization with the school’s Emergency Operations Plan.

  9. Attend monthly security staff meetings, and training events.

  10. Maintain a professional, open, and friendly relationship with TMI parents, faculty, staff, and students.

  11. Communicate any safety or security issues to the Director of Safety & Security.

  12. Communicate any maintenance concerns to the Director of Safety & Security or the Facilities Director.

  13. Assist the Director of Safety & Security as needed in other safety and security matters.

  14. May be required to take a person into custody or deal with physical confrontation.

  15. Shift work to include weekend assignments.

  16. Other duties as assigned.
  
  

  Required Experience, Certifications, and Licenses
